Dr. Charles M. Stuhr, DVM, ACVO
I was born and raised in San Francisco, earned my BS in Biological Sciences at UC Davis in 1985 and my DVM from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1990. My internship was at a multispecialty practice at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group where I spent a total of 4 years in general practice before obtaining Diplomate status in Veterinary Ophthalmology from UW Madison in 1997. My time in general practice and focus on clinical medicine and surgery has given me a keen perspective on managing all facets of your pet’s eye problems. I try to balance the practical with the technical so together we can make educated decisions. I have surrounded myself with a fabulous staff so that you can feel comfortable trusting us to answer your questions and take care of your pet’s needs. I have lived here in Connecticut since 1999 and continue to keep myself busy with my wife Leila and our 2 boys, Charlie and Reggie, although they are in college now! We love to golf, play racquet sports and I play the saxophone and electric bass. Under duress, I would say Maine Black Bear and Tin Roof Sundae are my favorite ice creams! |

Lisa-Marie, Manager
Welcome to the Animal Eye Clinic! I am the practice manager of the clinic. In July of 2001 I joined the Animal Eye Clinic team shortly after Dr. Stuhr purchased the practice. My extensive management background with an emphasis on building and maintaining a positive team environment quickly made me a vital member here at the clinic. It is with enthusiasm that I strive to make sure our patients’ time spent at the Animal Eye Clinic is a positive and warmhearted experience. I have surrounded myself with dedicated individuals and trained them to the highest standards. I continually encourage and monitor the never-ending growth of the staff and handle all matters with a no nonsense but sensitive approach when needed. In collaboration with the doctor, we turned our clinic into a happy, productive and successful place to work. As you may not see me quietly running around behind the scenes, it is with pride I ask you to trust your pets’ care in the hands of this five star team. |

Colleen, Head Technician
Hi! I’m Colleen and I joined the team in May 2018. I graduated college, entered the work force and found myself a home here at the clinic! It’s easy coming into work when you work alongside amazing coworkers but being able to help your furry friends everyday is the most rewarding part of the job. I also enjoy learning and love being able to put my knowledge of veterinary medicine to use! Outside of work, I like to experiment with cooking new foods and going on adventures with my dog, a Coonhound Mix named Zeke. As an ice cream lover, my favorite is cake batter with peanut butter cups and bananas! |

Francine, Veterinary Technician
Hi, I’m Francine and joined the Animal Eye Clinic family in April 2021. I graduated college as a Veterinary Technician back in the mid 80’s and continued in the field to early 90’s when I decided to try a different career path. Luckily fate brought me back to the animal field and I am thrilled to be doing what I love most, caring and helping to treat your loving pets. The bonus is also being part of a great team of caring professionals. When not at work I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. My favorite ice cream is cookies and cream topped with whipped cream. |

Mariah, Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Mariah! I joined the AEC team in the summer of 2021, and I have been loving every minute of it! I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since June of 2019. I have earned 2 degrees, one for Equine Science and Management from SUNY Morrisville in 2015, and my Veterinary Science and Technology degree from SUNY Canton in 2019. I take pride in the work I do, and I strive to treat every animal as one of my own when in my care. Animals have been my whole life, starting from showing purebred dogs in the conformation ring in AKC and showing my horse in local competitions as a child, to grooming and running a pet sitting business as a teenager. I live with two critters of my own. Ricky, who is a Shiba Inu, and Malachi who is an Exotic Shorthair I also have a fish named Omega. My hobbies are drawing and painting, singing, and playing video games. My favorite ice cream flavor is Mint Chip! |
